A Saturday Morning
WARNING: PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE I DID
OK, so here's my story
I decided to boot up the old DS one Saturday Morning and it loaded up almost how I knew it used to load up. The only thing I thought was unusual was the DS just went straight to the menu screen, skipping the 'Touch to continue' screen.
I thought, "No problem!" and found a game to play. I looked at my 3 games I didn't throw away 2 years ago, Nintendogs, New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario 64. I picked up New Super Mario Bros. and put it in the cartridge slot.
It started up perfectly fine but when I tried to load my old save to see where I was at, I found my self at world 7. I was near to finishing the world so I went on to the next level. When it loaded, all the blocks said a bold ERROR on them. Damn! I really wanted a bit of nostalgia.
I went to my computer and searched up "new super mario bros ds game". It came up with lots of websites, but were all too much for my low amount of pocket money. I was 6 pages in and then I found a page. Willson's Games - New Super Mario Bros. DS second hand for 50c! I went straight into the website and, without thinking, pressed buy now.
Oddly, the game came only on the next day, without packaging and carelessly thrown on my doorstep. I picked it up and brought it inside. The game was slightly scratched and the picture on the front looked to be washed in red color. I compared it to my broken game and I wasn't going mad, it was red. Anyway, I put it in the DS drive and booted the DS up.
It went straight to the game, missing the title and menu screen. I looked at the games title screen and Mario appeared to have blood dripping down his knees and scratches all over. I looked at the kingdom and saw Bowser's ship completely shredded to bits. I also saw Peach dead on the ground. I freaked out and tried to turn the DS off. It wouldn't. I threw it on the ground and ran outside. I inhaled some fresh air and walked back inside. The DS had moved. It was on the carpet at the door.
I was seriously freaking out. It read on the screen 'PLAY' in large red letters and the background was black. I thought, "A game can't hurt me! It just has to be some crazy glitch in the game."
I picked it up and now I regret that and will always regret it. I pressed A and went back to the title screen. Now, everything look fine. The sun was out and the kingdom was safe. Mario wasn't hurt.
I had a close look of the screen and found Mario's eyes to be red. Repeating what I thought before, I started singleplayer. No saves had been saved and the game started. It showed the kingdom being intruded by Bowser, him taking Peach and whatsoever, but Mario's eyes were still red. Then, when the real game began, I played the first level.
For some reason Mario started with rainbow power but he wasn't rainbow, in fact, the colors that were supposed to be rainbow were now red. It looked like Mario was bleeding all over. Also, when I pressed A I threw a knife in front of me. I was really scared but I repeated my thoughts.
I was doing great until I saw Peach, oddly placed in the level, I revealed I could attack her by throwing a knife at her head. Suddenly, blood splattered on the screen and the music became slow and dull. A screen popped up saying "Look back on what you have done" flashing horribly in sync with the dull music. I suddenly felt a pain in my chest, and died.
